Heritage Studies Degree

Heritage Studies Undergraduate Degree Course at Bishop Grosseteste University College, Lincoln

The Heritage Studies programme is built around two key strands: Heritage Specialisms and Heritage Management. Each strand comprises a number of modules that provide both introductory level studies and higher level work. The modules in Heritage Specialisms examine the history of all the critical elements of our heritage from furniture to architecture, from landscape to art and design. The modules in the Heritage Management strand focus upon the skills and methods used to manage heritage; from the individual level of furniture conservation to the wider world of museums and country house management and even including global perspectives, such as the administration of World Heritage Sites’.

I was among the first to graduate from this absorbing and stimulating degree which has seen my fellow graduates become, amongst other things, museum managers, curators and keepers of collections, archivists, teachers, lecturers and interpreters.
